Researchers Turn Down Offers from Juul

E-cigarette giant Juul is aggressively recruiting scientists to prove to the Food and Drug Administration and the public that Juuling offers more public health benefit than risk, but many researchers are turning down Juul’s requests for scientific support.

Academics said that company representatives have been heavily recruiting e-cigarette researchers at conferences and offering high rewards for help. However, the company has struggled to maintain a good reputation in the health community as Juul is seen as a key player in the epidemic of e-cigarette use and nicotine addiction among young people.
