Former Food and Drug Administration chief Scott Gottlieb said at a conference last month that the FDA didn’t do enough to regulate the e-cigarette industry to protect young people.
While he was commissioner, Gottlieb championed e-cigarettes as a way to help adults stop smoking, but the FDA’s delayed crackdown on vape has, in part, been blamed on a rise in teen vaping that Gottlieb eventually labeled an “epidemic.”
