On Wednesday, Sept. 12, Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Scott Gottlieb made an official declaration designating youth vaping in the U.S. an “epidemic.” See a video report here.
The administration has requested plans from several major e-cigarette manufacturers that show how the companies will take steps to ensure the devices stay out of the hands of children and teens. If the plans don’t meet FDA standards, the administration may halt sales.
