Women in Baby and Me Tobacco Free Program See Health and Financial Wins

A mother and baby pose and smile. Learn more about vaping and tobacco use in Colorado.A study conducted this year by the Colorado School of Public Health at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus found significant health wins for mothers who quit smoking during pregnancy.

The study tracked low-income mothers who enrolled in the Baby & Me Tobacco Free prevention program in Colorado. The participants, many of whom quit smoking through the program, saw lower rates of preterm births and had far fewer admissions to neonatal intensive care.
