Big Tobacco Still Reaching New Generations of Smokers on Social Media

The same industry that brought the world the Marlboro Man is advertising to new generations of tobacco users in strategic, highly adaptive ways.

By using social media marketing, hashtags and brand influencers, Big Tobacco companies are reaching a young demographic in a way that skirts rules imposed in the 1970s against marketing tobacco to youth. International public health organizations are pushing back.
