33% of Kids Who Don’t Smoke are Exposed to it Anyway (and Most are Poor)

A new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that over one-third of young people ages 3 to 17 who don’t smoke are exposed to secondhand smoke.

Children living at or below the poverty line are particularly at risk from secondhand smoke.  

Exposure to secondhand smoke increases children’s risk of disease, asthma, lung infections and other health problems.
