Colorado QuitLine
CO Quit Line
The Colorado QuitLine is here to help you through each step of your quitting process. Help is one call away.

What is the Colorado QuitLine?

The Colorado QuitLine is FREE to Colorado residents ages 15 or older. You can use it online, by telephone, or both. Signing up for the QuitLine will give you:
  • Support from a Quit Coach in English or Spanish
  • Coaching sessions
  • Online support ANYTIME
  • Nicotine patches, gum or lozenges (if you qualify)
  • Helpful tips to keep you tobacco-free

The QuitLine's expert coaches can help you make a plan to quit successfully, and are there to help you through the difficult parts of quitting. Many of these coaches quit themselves and know how it feels when you're trying to overcome an addiction. Coaches can help talk you through those stressful times when you're fighting a craving, or feeling anxious or irritable.

How does this program work?

The day you enroll... You contact the QuitLine by phone or online and sign-up for free. You'll then be connected to an expert Quit Coach who will ask about your tobacco use, health, and reasons for quitting. All this information will be kept confidential and gives you a chance to talk through what to expect and how your coach can best help you.

Within 5 days of enrolling... You will receive a self-help workbook. This provides you with additional tips and gives you ideas and tools to help you stick with your quit attempt.

If you're 18 or older, your Quit Coach can also arrange for nicotine patches, gum, or lozenges to be sent to you for free. Please note, if you want to use the QuitLine's free nicotine patches, gum or lozenges, your coach will ask you a few health questions. Depending on your answers, written medical consent from a doctor may be required.
Next 6 to 8 weeks... You and your Quit Coach will have up to four more coaching sessions where you can talk about your progress, work through any difficulties with quitting, and get tips and encouragement from your coach.
At anytime... You can call the Colorado QuitLine between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. any day of the week or log onto COQuitLine.org to get support whenever you need it.
Program Completion You are now on your way to becoming tobacco-free. You receive a certificate of completion, if you quit, or after five coaching calls are completed. People who use QuitLine services are seven times more likely to quit successfully than those who try to quit on their own.

What if I'm pregnant?

The Colorado QuitLine has a unique program available for pregnant women who want to quit smoking during pregnancy and who also want to stay tobacco-free after the baby is born. This FREE program provides the following services and resources:
  • As many as nine personal coaching calls during the pregnancy and after delivery
  • The opportunity to work with the same coach throughout the quitting process
  • Text messaging for additional support
  • Rewards that can be used to purchase items for the mom and baby
How do I enroll in the online QuitLine program?

Enroll by Phone
You can sign up right now by telephone. Call 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669).

The QuitLine is available from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week. If you call when the QuitLine is closed just leave a message, and a Quit Coach will call you back.

Enroll Online
You can also join online. Fill out the Enroll Now form. Remember, you need to be a Colorado resident age 15 years or older. Once you're enrolled you can use the online service as often as you want.

The "Enroll Now" form gives you a chance to let the Quit Coaches know the best time to give you a call. If you're interested in receiving nicotine patches, gum, or lozenges as part of your quitting plan, you'll need to participate in calls with a Quit Coach.

You can use both the phone and online programs, or use each separately. Let your Quit Coach know what will work best for you.
