A Stronger, Healthier Future Together

Tobacco use has hurt many communities, including Hispanic Coloradans, for generations. While tobacco companies continue to target our communities, we have the power to create a healthier, tobacco and nicotine-free future for ourselves and the generations to come. Join us in protecting your family, strengthening our community, and building a healthier Colorado for all.

Voices of Change

A History of Harm and Hope

For many years, tobacco companies have marketed their deadly products to Hispanic communities. These companies often use familiar cultural symbols to make tobacco seem appealing, leading to higher rates of smoking and nicotine use in our community. However, by understanding this history, we’re taking control and protecting future generations from the harms of commercial tobacco and other nicotine products.

Protect Your Family, Create a Healthier Community

Quitting tobacco isn’t just about your own health—it’s also about keeping the people around you safe. When you smoke, secondhand smoke—the smoke from your cigarette, cigar, or pipe—can harm your family and others nearby. Kids are especially at risk. It can make it harder for them to breathe and cause other health problems. Vapor produced by vapes and e-cigarettes isn’t just water vapor. It’s an aerosol that contains nicotine and heavy metals and it can also cause health problems for those around you.

When you quit, you help set a positive example for others and help create a healthier environment for everyone. If you need help quitting or cutting back the Colorado QuitLine has free, no-pressure support in English and Spanish any time of day. Visit COQuitline.org or call 1-800-QUIT-NOW. Free support in Spanish is available at DejeloyaColorado.org or call 1-800-DEJELO-YA.
